Clear aligners straighten teeth with a series of thin, removable plastic trays, each one made to move your teeth a small, planned amount. At our Hunter Street practice we offer three systems: Invisalign, Spark and Angel Aligner.
Choosing between them starts with your teeth, not the brand. We assess your bite, gums and goals, then explain which systems suit you, what each would cost and whether braces might be the better option. Your consultation is complimentary for all three systems.
The three systems work the same basic way. The main differences are the manufacturer, the tray material, the planning software and the fee.

After an assessment, clear aligners may be suggested for:
Severe bite problems or jaw discrepancies may need fixed braces or referral to a specialist orthodontist.
At Parramatta Dentistry, Spark and Angel Aligner range from $3,700 to $8,490 and Invisalign from $4,200 to $8,990. Simple cases needing fewer aligners sit toward the lower end; complex cases with more movement and refinements sit higher. Additional Essix or Vivera retainers are $150 per arch or $300 per set.
Interest-free payment plans may be available, subject to approval by our external providers. If your extras cover includes orthodontics, your health fund may also contribute; ask us for the item numbers so you can check.
Often more than one system would suit your case. The decision usually comes down to fee, how the trays feel and how your dentist plans the movements. Independent research comparing the brands directly is limited, so we don’t say one is better for everyone. These guides explain the differences:
Clear aligners are not suitable for every bite, and results differ from person to person. Most people feel some pressure for a day or two with each new set, and speech can feel slightly different at first. You’ll need to take the trays out to eat and to drink anything except water. Treatment relies on wearing aligners 20 to 22 hours a day; if they’re worn less, teeth may not follow the plan and extra aligners or more time may be needed. Some plans need small tooth-coloured attachments or gentle polishing between teeth (interproximal reduction). Teeth can move back if retainers aren’t worn as directed, and decay or gum disease needs to be treated before you start.
Any invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. Read more about treatment risks.
